Tactile and sensual - that's the beauty of working in clay.  I work mainly using paperclay and porcelain casting slip. I am inspired by the curvilinear forms of the female body. I predominantly make use of hand building and mould making techniques. My forms continue into textile art, adding fragility and femininity.

I have a HND in Fine Art from Hertford Regional College and a degree in Art History from Manchester University. I have taken part in three Gravelly Barn exhibitions. I share a ceramics studio with two fellow practitioners at Parndon Mill, Harlow, and have exhibited in the Parndon Mill Gallery.  My work is also on show in galleries in Buntingford and Somerset.  caroline.avey@btinternet.com
